On the assumption of self-reflective subjectivity

Contemporary social theory has consistently emphasized habitual action, rule-following, and role-performing as key aspects of life, yet the challenge remains combining these with omnipresent phenomenon self-reflective conduct. This article attempts to tackle this by proposing useful distinctions that can facilitate further interdisciplinary research on self-reflection. To end, I argue we need a more sophisticated set categories in our understanding action. The analysis casts light idea contemporary theories self-reflection are not consistent everyday notions agential knowledgeability accountability, conclusion indicates reconceptualize discourse subjectivity non-eliminative terms. Ultimately, assumption turns out be theoretical necessity for conceptualization discursive participation democratic choice.
